(February 4, 2010) – Series Officials announced a significant price reduction for competitors in the 2010 Cooper Tires Presents the Atlantic Championship Powered by Mazda. This price reduction is part of a new movement by the Atlantic Championship to help aspiring drivers onto the “Road to F1”.

The Atlantic Championship Series is offering a full season of racing for a fixed cost of $495,000, including ten race weekends and twelve races. The 2010 season will include world class championship level racing throughout the year, starting with the 12 Hours of Sebring and finishing with Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. The fixed price budget is available direct from the series and interested parties should contact David Bowes at DBowes@AtlanticChampionship.com. Ben Johnston, Atlantic Championship owner, said “I am delighted to confirm that we have negotiated a fixed budget for all of our drivers in 2010. It is a fact that the Atlantic Championship consistently demonstrates, above all other series, that it promotes its drivers into the highest levels of motorsport. We are now able to do all of that for less, which is a huge opportunity for all current and future competitors.”

The Atlantic Championship will be hosting a two day test at Spring Mountain Motorsports Park, Nevada – just outside Las Vegas – on February 22nd and 23rd for all drivers considering competing in the 2010 season. Series officials confirmed today that at least one current European F1 team manager will be in attendance throughout the two day test. This is the first of the opportunities that the Atlantic Series will be offering to drivers this year as part of its new “Road to F1” vision. Interested drivers should contact David Bowes for more details.

Mobil 1 Racing oils were engineered to help on-track vehicles reach the peak of their performance potential.

A Tradition of Racing Excellence
Mobil 1 Racing oil technology has been developed using our extensive experience in premier automotive racing series around the world, such as Formula 1, NASCAR, Le Mans, IRL, NHRA, Formula 3, SCCA GT and ALMS. The variety of demands that each racing series requires of a lubricant help us ensure that Mobil 1 Racing oils can meet the extreme conditions encountered on the race track.

Engineered for the Track
These next-generation Mobil 1 Racing oils use race-proven, fully synthetic technology used in racing applications around the world. Busch started the race in 4th place and quickly made his way to the front of the pack. This win was Busch’s 10th Nationwide Series victory this season, marking yet another milestone in Busch’s record breaking year.

“It was a strong car all day and it kind of set the tone,” Said Team NOS Energy Member Kyle Busch. “It sort of got loose a little bit through the race and we tightened it up with some adjustments there. Fortunately for us, we were up front all day and didn’t have to mire through much traffic, but I still feel like our car was good enough to do so.”

The No. 18 led for 174 of 200 laps at the Texas Motor Speedway and gave Kyle his 21st NASCAR victory this season. The number 21 was a good number for Busch this weekend, as this race also marked Busch’s 21st career Nationwide Series victory.

Theory Communication and Design and Ben Schaffer, Bulletproof Automotive, had an idea about building the perfect reincarnation of Godzilla to celebrate the resurgence of the GT-R name with the R35 GT-R. On behalf of Mobil 1, Schaffer took the idea and went to work, modifying his GT-R so that it would improve the car’s aesthetics and performance. Ben’s motivation was to build a GT-R that would beat whatever Nissan had planned for the upcoming V-spec GT-R, including braking, handling, power, weight reduction, aerodynamics and of course, luxury.

Upon completion of his masterpiece, Ben added something to his GT-R that would excite any JDM enthusiast: exclusive OEM “Midnight Purple” paint, straight from Nissan Japan. This paint is reserved for only for the crème de la crème of GT-R’s that meet Nissan’s top spec requirements and really sets this car apart from the crowd.

The Mobil 1/Bulletproof Automotive GT-R will be the first R35 GT-R in the world to be adorned with the Midnight Purple color scheme, but there are a lot more unique attributes that make this car something truly exceptional. On the exterior, you can’t miss the one-off Carbon Roof and Full Zele Carbon Aerodynamic Package with Amuse Wing, highlighted with graphic design by world famous designer Manabu “Mana-P” Suzuki of MS-R and Option. Under the hood you’ll find performance modifications like a COBB AccessPORT ECU and a Powerhouse Amuse Full Turbo Back Exhaust System helping the extra air exit out the back. Bringing this GT-R to a hault, is an Endless Mono-6 Racing Brake Conversion on all 4 corners while an Amuse Suspension with Electronic Integration, BBS LM Limited Wheel and Toyo Proxes R888 Tires keep the R35 planted firmly to the road.

There are only a few days left until the SEMA show hits in Las Vegas and word about this extraordinary Mobil 1/Bulletproof Automotive Nissan GT-R has been spreading like wild fire. This one-off custom R35 will be on display in the Mobil 1 booth (#25173) next week. For more information, please visit www.Mobil1.com.
