They have been a major partner to the automotive industry for many years. Like everything – times change. The market is maturing and people are moving forward. The automotive industry and the aftermarket industry is doing very well. In fact it is giving us time to finally see the markets focused and moved toward a strong environment for enthusiasts for years down the road.

I wish NOPI the very best. No matter what anyone says, they have been here a long time, and have provided events that many of us have extremely found memories of!

Get ready to see some great things in the market. The focus will take place here very soon – and top industry leaders will help step up and push the market where it needs to go. The future is bright – and full of promise. It’s going to be exciting to see who comes forth and helps shape the industry and help build it – like its meant to be built.

“It is with great regret that NOPI Motorsports, LLC has suspended operations for the summer and fall 2008. This will include NOPI Drag Racing Series, NOPI Drift Series and the NOPI NATIONALS Motorsports Supershow. The company is undergoing an organizational restructuring in light of severe adverse affects of a disappointing spring season. The economy and unfavorable weather resulted in underperformance of all spring events. Michael Meyers, president of NOPI Motorsports, reports that NOPI Motorsports is working with its clients and sponsors to minimize the uncertainty going forward. This is a reflection of the economic times in which we currently live. The countrywide economic and industry downturn has caused a slowdown and tightening of belts. This affects everyone and companies, at all levels, and NOPI Motorsports is no different.

International Speedway.

It was Busch’s series-high sixth win of the NASCAR Sprint Cup season, the 10th of his Sprint Cup career and his first at Daytona.

“Man, I can’t believe that we’re here right now,” Busch said. “We didn’t have the best car tonight, but these guys never gave up and we never gave up out there on the race track. We just had to get up to the front, and luckily we were leading there when it mattered the most when the caution came out. There was just a ton of wrecks behind us. I hate it for all of those guys in torn up equipment. I’m glad to have this Interstate Batteries Toyota up front.”

Busch and his Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) teammate Denny Hamlin made contact on lap 83, causing Busch to nearly lose control of his Interstate Batteries Toyota. But Busch – in a masterful piece of driving – kept control of his car by going to the apron of the race track as the pack of cars behind him screamed past.

“When I got hit from Denny and I pulled out of line to try to pass, the air pinned the nose and it just got me squirrely down the straightaway,” Busch said. “And there was really no rear grip in the tires while I was going straight for whatever reason. So just had to slow it down and get it straight and rode the apron there.

After recovering from the minor incident, Busch worked his way from 37th to the front of the field and managed to pass Jeff Gordon for the lead on lap 156 just before a multi-car accident in turn three caused NASCAR officials to extend the race two laps beyond the original 160-lap distance.

“I knew it was the green‑white-checkered, and yeah, I did see the ‘24’ (Gordon) go around,” Busch said. “And I was kind of waiting for the caution and the caution never came. I just kept my foot in it, and I was like, ‘All right, I guess we’re going to be racing.’ I just kept my foot in it and tried to beat (Edwards) and finish the race up front.”

Busch was just ahead of Edwards when the caution came out again for a multi-car accident in turn one on lap 162. Busch was declared the winner by NASCAR officials, as it was determined his car was in the lead when the caution came out.

“What an amazing night tonight. This is something that we have all dreamt about for a long time. We raced this race extremely hard, and my whole crew wanted this win as bad as I did. They worked harder than anyone making sure to give me every chance in the world to win this race. Jumping out of the car and spraying them down with NOS Energy Drink was a highlight for me, because they deserve the NOS bath in victory lane tonight,” said Kyle Busch.

This incredibly exciting news comes on the heels of Neil Tjin, former Executive Editor of HCI Magazine, joining the Theory team and spearheading their new west coast office.

Tjin is no stranger to the automotive industry, as he has been involved in the automotive market for more than a decade. Over the years, Neil has experienced great success in many fields such as a Marketing Manager, PR Advisor, Car Designer and Executive Editor of HCI Magazine. Tjin has been able to take a hobby and turn it into a career. He has been responsible for designing and building more than fifty high profile vehicles, showcasing his creative talents on numerous Chevrolets, Pontiacs, Hondas, Acuras, Nissans, Infinitis, Scions, and Volvos. In recent years, Tjin has also teamed up with major OEM manufacturers such as Chevrolet, Pontiac, Scion and Honda North America. HCI Magazine has experienced growth and industry recognition through his leadership as their Executive Editor since 2003.

Tjins overall talents and determination have brought him numerous accolades including the 2004 Industry Person of the Year and 2005 SEMA Person of the Year. With Tjins experience and invaluable expertise in the automotive segment, he will immediately help make an impact for Theorys clients. Tjin has stepped in as an Account Manager at Theory and is presently working on major programs for NOS Energy Drink, which will quickly become apparent here in 2008.

Working as the Executive Editor of HCI Magazine, a nationally published automotive magazine, for close to 5 years has really given me the opportunity to gain valuable experience on the media side of things. During this time I have been able to help build many priceless relationships, which has helped me tremendously in my career, said Neil Tjin. I have worked with Andy Williamson and the Theory team on many projects in the past, and their drive, determination, and dedication to their clients is unmatched. When Andy and I got together to figure out what would be the best move for Theory and their clients, we knew that collaboration between Theory Communication and Design and myself would make a great impact in the industry.

I am extremely excited about this new venture for Theory. Neil comes with a great amount of experience and will be an immediate asset for Theory. We are an extremely passionate group here at Theory and Neil will fit in perfectly. Expanding our presence to the west coast is going to be very impactful for Theory. I can easily see the west coast office growing very quickly over there.

Team NOS Member Kyle Busch was prepped and ready for the CarQuest Auto Parts 300 Nationwide Race on Saturday May 24th. Equipping Busch with a brand new race car, nicknamed “Golden Child” at the Braun Racing shop, the team’s night would not go without adversity. However, Busch and the Dollar General team refused to be denied. As all in the No. 32 pit held their breath, Busch held off a last lap challenge by Denny Hamlin to bring home the win.

As the sun dipped below the grandstands at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Busch took the green flag and headed for the front. The big excitement started on a caution on lap 123, which gave Busch the opportunity to bring his car to pit road for four tires, fuel and an air pressure adjustment. Unfortunately, a problem with the jack resulted in a slow stop for the Dollar General team and not only cost Busch the lead but put him back in the 19th position for the restart. Busch would not be denied as his frustration only seemed to fuel his determination. Taking over one position after another, he soon found himself back inside the top 10.

Running ninth when a caution fell on lap 159, it was decision time for the Dollar General team. With 40 laps to go Todd Lohse, Bush’s Crew Chief, knew that they were almost four laps short on fuel but that with a couple more caution periods and an effort by Busch to conserve they could make it. After much deliberating, the team came to a unanimous decision – Go for it!! As all of the leaders hit pit road, Busch took over the lead for the restart with 35 to go.

The rest was history as they say; the race went under caution twice more, relieving the team’s concern for fuel as Busch continued to dominate. One last caution with two laps to go set the field up for a green-white-checker finish and what would be an exciting, nail-biting ending. In the end, Team NOS Member Kyle Busch held off a determined challenge by Denny Hamlin, to take the checkered flag and give Braun Racing and sponsor, Dollar General, their first win of the 2008 season.

“The Dollar General Camry was awesome tonight,” said Busch. “We really had to work on it there in the beginning of the race but Todd Lohse and the guys made a lot of adjustments on it and we got it going in the end. We were a little worried about the fuel situation at the end of the race but whatever they’re putting in this thing, whether it’s NOS Energy Drink or Sunoco, it certainly had enough in it to make it. I was concerned a little bit, but every caution we had there I was fortunate because I could shut the motor off and make a whole lap around under caution without the motor running. That gained us about two laps right there every time the caution came out. Then I just rode around in fourth gear chugging along behind the pace truck. Fortunately for us, we were able to make it with some burnouts.”

Congratulations to Team NOS Member Kyle Busch for his 9th NASCAR victory this year! Stay tuned to www.drinkNOS.com for all your NOS News and Team NOS updates.

You never have to tell anyone from NOS about a party more than once. All we did was mention a birthday party for Team NOS member Kyle Busch and the gears were set into motion. We started off by picking a location that could hold everything we wanted to throw at it and CANS bar and lounge in downtown Charlotte was prime! Once we began to lay everything out the folks over at Electric Visual decided to bring in a band and some of their eye candy. Before long we had other Team NOS Energy member coming to the party and everyone coming down for this shin dig! Take a look at the pics for some of the action.

Darlington experienced its first NOS Bath in victory lane when NASCAR’s hottest driver turned up the heat on Saturday May 10, as he brought the crowd to his feet with another victory! The newly-renovated and historic “Lady in Black” left a lasting impression on the 43-car field in tonight’s Dodge Challenger 500, as she always does. But it was the young superstar, Kyle Busch, who left the most vivid impression on the NASCAR world with another dominant performance. After leading seven times for a total of 169 laps, Busch drove his No. 18 M&M’s®/Indiana Jones Toyota Camry to victory lane for the third time this season. With the win, he boosted his points lead to 79 markers over second-place Jeff Burton.

“(This win) means a lot.” Busch remarked afterwards. “This racetrack, don’t get me wrong, I don’t know all the history and heritage of it, but I know there’s a lot to it. But we’re running around here so fast now it’s confusing.” continued Busch. “To me it’s just neat to be able to go around this place and remember all that and yet still be able to become the winner tonight. It means a lot, especially because it’s Mother’s Day weekend now, and of course my mom was here to be able to help celebrate with us. Happy Mother’s Day to her. And having Indiana Jones and M&M’s on board this weekend with us, that was pretty cool, too. Glad we could get them a win for the special promotion they had going. Once I pulled into victory lane, it never gets old spraying down my crew and receiving a NOS Bath in victory lane!”

It was a victory, for all intents and purposes, that never should have happened. He tried to knock the wall down more than once, flattening the right side of his race car. He had a loose lug nut in the pits that sent him back to 29th only 60 laps in. His car just wasn’t handling right. And besides, he’s only 23. He shouldn’t be this good, right? But Kyle Busch once again silenced all doubters, proving he’s NASCAR’s hottest driver and it’s going to take a mighty effort to knock him from the top.

As noted, Busch and his No. 18 M&M’s team overcame several setbacks throughout Saturday night’s 500-mile race. The new racing surface added speed and new challenges to an already treacherous race track. But crew chief Steve Addington and the entire crew stayed on top of changing track conditions and the car’s handling, as they worked hard all night to keep their driver in contention. In the end, it was Busch’s fierce competitive streak that would not allow him to falter.

But again, it was Kyle Busch who continued to rewrite the record books by becoming the youngest Darlington winner at 23 years, eight days of age. He also helped to create a new record average race speed of 140.350mph. With a 3.115-second margin of victory, Busch expanded his points lead and increased his Cup Series win total to three for the season. He also now has eight total wins in NASCAR’s top three divisions for 2008.
